Zildjian Gen16 Direct Source PickUp 2.0 ZIG16AE02DS
The Direct Source Pickup is a professional audio cymbal sensor and preamp designed to be used with either Gen16 cymbals or traditional Zildjian acoustic cymbals on acoustic, electric or hybrid drum and percussion setups. The DS pickup is a two-piece system consisting of the sensor (attaches to the cymbal, cowbell, etc) and LED light module and preamp section (attaches to the cymbal stand / Hi-Hat stand / drum hardware). The DS pickup can be used with personal monitors (headphones/ear buds) or live sound monitors (speakers). Like the original Gen16 (mic) pickup, the DS pickup IS NOT a trigger. The DS pickup captures all of the subtleties and nuances produced from a cymbal and striking device, such as sticks, mallets, brushes, rods and even a bow! While the DS pickup is great for solo play and rehearsals, it is designed for use on stage during live performance. Like the original Gen16 pickup, the DS pickup can be used with the Gen16 DCP to provide individual control of audio, effects, and tone shaping of each cymbal. The DS pickup also provides for a better Gen16 cymbal sound as it allows the Digital Sound Processing within the DCP to be fully engaged. Each DS Pickup comes with a mounting kit for use on most manufactures cymbals and hi-hat stands.
Coupled with the DCP’s (Digital Cymbal Processor) Tone Shaping, you’ll have many musical and tonal possibilities at your fingertips.
Für viele Low-Cymbals verwendbar und i.Vgl. zur ersten Generation auch live-tauglich. Die LEDs sind zwar Geschmacksache, machen aber live doch was her und sind zumindest ein Blickfang. Drum-tec wie immer schnell und zuverlässig.

Ausbaufähig
Gedacht gut, nur leider ist die Software nicht ganz so gut, wie der erwartet. Die Klang, der erzeugt wird und die Umsetzung mit der Software ist auf jeden Fall ausbaufähig. Nutze nur eine Hihat mit diesem Pickup, weil der Klang der anderen Cymbal leider grauenvoll ist, meiner Meinung. Die Bestellung und Abwicklung war wie immer vorbildlich und die Beratung war sehr freundlich und sehr hilfreich. Alles in allem kann ich Drumtec nur empfehlen.

Ausbaufähig
Sieht toll aus, nur der Klang ist dann leider nicht so toll. Die Bearbeitung durch die Software bringt leider auch keine Vorteile. Zum Üben ja, für Live würde ich das Akustik Set vorziehen.

Good morning ! Can this product be used with non-Zildjian Hi Hat (like Paiste or Power Beat)? If yes, do I have to do any modification (like holes) to my cymbals ? Does the product give different open and closed Hi Hat sound ?Thank you.
