The diabolo Bass Drum is not a mass product from some factory. Our e-drums are handmade in our workshop in Hessisch Oldendorf, Germany.

Special care is required for natural products: Because the birch wood shells are working, the trigger system of your floor tom will be perfectly matched to your shell by our instrument maker. Two-ply mesh head: The real feel bass drum system is designed for our design mesh heads!
Wait, what? real feel bass drums are not equipped with Real Feel mesh heads? That's right! Many e-bass drums from other manufacturers can be significantly upgraded with our 3-ply real feel mesh heads. However, our high-end trigger system only requires 2-ply mesh heads!
With the diabolo Bass Drum, the Real Feel effect is already built in. Our trigger system itself already feels incredibly authentic. A 3-ply mesh head does not add any further improvement. In fact, the third layer would just be unnecessary resonating ballast.
Instead, we use our 2-ply design mesh heads. Since we have reduced the layers to a minimum, there are no double triggers due to free-swinging mesh head layers.

bass, besser, drum-tec - besser geht´s nicht!!!
Ich bin seit 2012 glücklicher Besitzer eines drum-tec diabolo.Ich hatte mich damals erst mal im Internet schlau gemacht und wollte mich so gewappnet durch die entsprechenden Läden spielen. Weit bin ich jedoch nicht gekommen. Um genau zu sein, genau bis drum-tec süd. Alles Spielenswerte war da, top Beratung, sehr entspannte Atmosphäre (kein Kaufdruck). Folge: Einmal diabolo mit allem (Becken, Rack, TD 9, Hadware) bitte!
Mit diesen Erinnerungen im Gepäck und den bis dahin noch etwas diffusen Wunsch, mich ggf. auf einen aktuelleren Stand der Technik zu bringen, bin ich wieder zu drum-tec süd. Uwe Kunz hat mich nach 8 Jahren wiedererkannt. Das überraschte mich sehr angenehm. Ich war kein Premium-Kunde, aber ich fühlte mich so :-) Nach einem - wie immer äußerst kompetenten - Beratungsgespräch war schnell klar, in welche Richtung es gehen könnte. Also ran an die drums und testspielen.Die bassdrum hat aus dem Stand überzeugt! Das waren Welten im Spielgefühl. Ich bin bei Leibe kein Virtuose am Schlagzeug, aber diese bassdrum hat irgendwie meinen rechten Fuß beflügelt. Ich war imstande Patterns zu spielen, die vorher einfach nicht gelingen wollten. Ich war im Himmel! Wie ich von Uwe erfuhr, war das die neure "Real Feel"-Technik, die es damals für das diabolo noch nicht gab. Aus meiner Sicht ein absolutes "must have", wenn man sich ernsthaft mit E-drums beschäftigt. Da war es natürlich mehr als schön zu erfahren, dass ich meine "Alte" upgraden kann. Also bestellt. Zügiger unkomplizierter Versand. Ordentlich verpackt. Aufgebaut. Und vieeeeeeel Spaß mit dem Ding gehabt und habe ihn auch noch. Spiele es nun seit ein paar Monaten und kann diese bassdrum mit guten Gewissen und sehr viel Begeisterung weiterempfehlen.

I sold my ATV kick after playing a diabolo kick at a friend's.
The ATV now seems like a cheap knockoff which I guess it actually is: it's less stable, triggers worse, is much much louder and the workmanship and overall quality are pretty poor compared to the Drumtec kick.
When I got my own diabolo kick it was a revelation! This thing FEELS like a kick! I've played Roland, Alesis, ATV, ... and the diabolo has them all beat, it's not even funny! All the other kicks seem to be loud toys with wonky mechanics. They feel like they're not even trying... Drumtec made me enjoy edrums with this kick!! Before it was just something I did for rehearsal at home, like a chore, but now I actually look forward to practice with edrums... A KICK did that .. insane!!
Thanks Drumtec for helping me figure out which kick still fits under my rack (I would have gotten a 20" pro kick if it'd fit) and fast shipping to the US. The kick was boxed up well and arrived in record time.

Ich bin Besitzer eines originalen Alesis Strike Pro und suchte nach einem Kick in voller Größe. Ich hab den Kick erst vor ein paar Tagen erhalten. Der Versand war GANZ schnell (nur ein paar Tage !!!) und ich lebe in den US! Der Kick ist wunderschön verarbeitet und von herausragender Qualität. Es fühlt sich an genau wie ein akustischer Kick. Dieser Kick ist jeden Cent wert! Ich hab es nicht bereut!

Incredible playing feel and very quiet
The 18" Diabolo kick has the very sought-for combination of feeling really close to an acoustic kick drum, while also being very quiet.
In terms of feel, there is no other well-made alternative other than, maybe, the ATV adrums artist kick drum. I had a KD-85 before and it felt almost like hitting a wall - too much rebound. For reference, I've played on all other Roland kicks and I would consider all of them way behind in terms of feel - except for the KD-A22 but that's basically a KD-9 inside a shell, so it's as loud as a canon.
Many people claim to have done a successful DIY conversion of an acoustic kit but either the feel will be off, or the noise will be prohibitive for an apartment. The minimal noise your hits will make have a lower pitch than most other kicks. The Diabolo might cost a lot but it's just about the only solution that delivers on all fronts.
Drum-tec also applies some acoustic pyramid foam inside the shell to reduce the resonant noise. It does a good job already, but I also added some foam directly on the resonant head. Now the kick is the most quiet part of my e-kit.
If I had to nitpick, I'd mention that in the packaging there's not a lot of cushioning around the kick to secure it against potentially careless handling.

beste E-Bassdrum weit und breit
Ich habe ein "billig" E-Shellset von einem englischen Produzenten (Job**y) gekauft und hatte vor allem mit der Bassdrum einen Griff ins Klo gemacht. immer wieder verstellte sich das Triggersystem, welches mit einer Flügelmutter fixiert wurde... Ergebnis: Fehltrigger ohne Ende. So macht das natürlich keinen Spaß und frustriert nur. Nachdem ich im Drumtec Center Süd vor Ort das Diabolo-Set getestet hatte, war ich begeistert. Kurz darauf bestellt und bis heute (1Jahr) nicht einen Fehltrigger. Die veraurbeitung ist TOP und das Spielgefühl fast wie Akustik BD.Ich kann es nur jedem empfehlen, der E-Drum mit A-Optik ohne Frust mit viel Lust spielen möchte :)
Besser etwas länger dafür gespart :)

Eine sehr gelungen Mixtur aus elektro Bass Drum und Bio Akustik Kessel, allerdings auch ein "hoher Preis" Bin trotzdem sehr glücklich mit meiner Wahl
Ich hatte mein ursprünliches TD-9 ohne hin schon auf Eigenbau-Toms mit Mesh umgebaut und war nun auf der Suche nach einer wirklich guten Bassdrum (und einer passenden Snare) Gesehen hier, 18'' Bass und 12'' Snare gekauft. Ich kann Euch sagen, dass ich besseres noch nicht unter Schlegel oder Sticks hatte. Absolut authentisches Spielgefühl, Rebound wie bei einem (gut gestimmten) A-Set, feine Verarbeitung. Wenn ich nicht schon meine Toms hätte, würde ich das Komplettset so0fort und unbesehen kaufen. Chapeau und 5 Sterne für drum-tec.

Sieht wirklich super aus im Kit, hat ein tolles Spielgefühl, wie echt.
Bin froh, dass ich Euch und dieses Teil gefunden habe und nicht die KD85 von Roland behalten habe.
Ich schau immer wieder mal bei Euch auf die Homepage...finden kann man immer etwas :-)

Fein, was die machen! Man hätte ja so gern immer alles. Tolles Spielgefühl, klassischer Look, leicht zu transportieren, Hightech-Elektronik. Gibts jetzt wirklich, weil Drum-Tec beim Diabolo den Spagat zwischen Sparsamkeit und hoher Qualität schafft.Diabolo ist kein Komplettset, sondern eine Serie von schwarz hochglanz lackierten Pads, die ihr mit beliebiger Hardware und eurem Lieblingsmodul kombinieren könnt. Die Trigger sitzen in herkömmlichen Holzkessel mit Durchmessern von 10" oder 12" bei einer Tiefe von 5". Die Bassdrum besitzt die Maße 18" x 12". Die Trommeln sind bestückt mit kreisrunden Spannböckchen und geflanschten Spannreifen, auf denen schlagfellseitig Profilgummis als Geräuschkiller thronen.Gewebefelle reduzieren die Lautstärke. Wenig Geräusche verursachen, das ist eine Devise bei Drum-Tec, weswegen statt Fellen Meshheads aufgezogen sind. Doppellagige, weiße Design-Meshheads (die auch beim Pro Series zum Einsatz kommen) auf der Oberseite und transparente einlagige auf der Unterseite. Letztere gewähren einen Blick ins Kesselinnere, wo an drei Metallstreben der Schaumstoffkegel angebracht ist, der die Impulse in elektrische Signale umwandelt. Tom- und Snarepads besitzen die gleiche Technik und so bleibt es euch überlassen, in welcher Größe ihr sie auswählt. Dank der Halteböckchen könnt ihr sie leicht an jegliche L-Stücke befestigen. Ob sich die nun an einem Rack befinden oder ihr lieber auf Doppeltomständer zurückgreift bleibt euch überlassen. Das Bassdrumpad verfügt über verstellbare, ausklappbare Beine mit Gummifüßen, aus denen ihr Stahlspikes ausfahren könnt. Das Pad ist doppelpedaltauglich, darauf weist schon optisch die auf das Gewebefell aufgeklebte Verstärkung hin, die den Trigger vor Zerstörung bewahrt. Sehr geehrte Drum-Tec Team!
Nachdem ich mich bereits vor Monaten zu einer Sapeli-Snare entschieden habe und damit mehr als zufrieden bin, habe ich mich kurzerhand entschlossen auch die Bass-Drum zu tauschen. Ich kann nur sagen: einfach himmlisch! Triggerverhalten an meinem TD-20, spielbarkeit und die traumhafte Verarbeitung suchen ihres gleichen. Ein recht herzliches Dankeschön an das gesamte Team.
Und nebenbei sieht das ganze Set einfach g..... aus.

Sieht super aus, top verarbeitet und macht richtig Spaß damit zu klopfen.
Kann ich ohne Einschränkung empfehlen. Habe eigentlich sämtliche am Markt
vorhandenen Varianten probiert, aber diese ist einfach genial. Aus meiner Sicht
sogar besser als die ganzen Roland-Dinger und kostet trotzdem weniger und sieht
auch noch besser aus. Was will man denn mehr?
